VISA to auction FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 NFTs
Crypto.com and Visa are coming together with a digital art NFT auction for the fan experience ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Visa has launched, the “Visa Masters of Movement” auction, inspired by iconic goals from five legendary footballers including Jared Borgetti, Tim Cahill, Carli Lloyd, Michael Owen, and Maxi Rodriguez. These goals have been minted into unique NFTs available on Crypto.com, one of the prestigious crypto exchange companies based in Singapore, now the official crypto exchange partner of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
By this month’s end, these NFTs will be available on an interactive pitch in Doha and Qatar, at the FIFA Fan Festival. As per the auction’s protocol, the fans with the highest bid on each NFT for the Masters of the Movement at the close of the auction will receive the NFT artwork in their Crypto.com wallets, along with a high-quality printable. Those Non-Fungible Tokens will be signed as a token of memorabilia by the NFT-featured footballers, which will bring more authenticity.
Andrea Fairchild, senior vice president and head of sponsorships, Visa said, “As FIFA World Cup 2022™ approaches, we want to celebrate football, art, and technology through the lens of what makes the FIFA World Cup™ so special – wildly impassioned fans, legendary athletes, and for a few short weeks, the ability to bring the world together in a uniquely connected way.”
Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer at Crypto.com informed, “The FIFA World Cup is one of the most anticipated sporting events in the world, and we are incredibly excited to give fans a new way to engage with this epic event. We are thrilled to partner with Visa in bringing Visa Masters of Movement to life and offering fans the opportunity to create and collect the most unique collectibles at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that will live forever on the blockchain.”
The “Visa Masters of Movement” auction will close on November 8 (9:00 pm GMT).
FIFA has also partnered with Algorand, a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain protocol, besides partnering with Visa and Crypto.com.
The auction proceeds will be granted to a charitable organization, Child United, incorporating and operating in Britain.
