Even though crypto markets continue to rise and fall and the non-fungible token (NFT) market is gaining momentum, the private investors are pumping more money into it than ever before. At present, venture capital investors are eyeing companies at a breakneck pace that have the potential for higher growth .
Venture capital firms poured $14.2 billion into crypto across 725 deals in the first half of 2022. The top five investors in blockchains from September last year till June 2022-end are major public sector companies such as BlackRock, Alphabet Inc, Morgan Stanley, Samsung, and Goldman Sachs.
According to Blockdata, from September 2021 to June 2022, Alphabet invested approximately $1.506 billion in blockchain companies through four funding rounds, Fireblocks, Dapper Labs, Voltage, and Digital Currency Group.
Blockchain analyst Surbhi Malhotra had an opportunity to discuss more on venture capital investment trends in this booming market at moment with one of the industry specialists Parimal Priyadarshan, VP- Client engagement Nu10. In the podcast, Parimal explained, how the popularity of alternative payment methods is growing, and the blockchain market will continue to grow exponentially. He suggested, “In the first quarter of 2022, a New York-based financial services firm, venture capitalists (VCs) have invested more than $10 billion in crypto startups. The interesting point here is that most of the venture capital deals in the crypto market are taking place at the time when the coins are trading 50 percent below their peaks.”
He further suggested, we are standing at a watershed moment, where the concerns and skepticism related to the crypto market regulation are growing, and the investments from VC firms are at their peak. Despite the rout in the market, valuations are witnessing a solid spike.
Parimal believes that a lot of crypto VC investors are convinced that crypto winter is a temporary slit in the industry’s broader volatility. What most people are viewing as roadblocks, venture capitalists believe price declines and deal meltdowns as speed-breakers only.
The industry expert Parimal Priyadarshan in the podcast expressed his opinions on how VC investments in Crypto and blockchain startups are changing the paradigm. He also provides his perspective on why this sector has attracted so much attention from investors.
